A SMART CITY is a city that uses smart technologies to make the critical infrastructure components and services of the city (including public administration, education, environment, healthcare, public safety, transportation and utilities) more intelligent, interconnected and efficient, with the aim of becoming more sustainable, fair and livable. A Smart City is therefore a city that guarantees a good quality of life for its inhabitants, and air quality is one of the most important indicators, since it has direct and evident effects on the health of the community.

However City workers can understand and improve air quality conditions only if pollutants are measured, monitored, and managed with precision.
